Jeremiah 2:5:1כֹּ֣הkothus
Jeremiah 2:5:2אָמַ֣רamarsaid Jeremiah 2:5:3יְהוָ֗הyahwehthe LORD Jeremiah 2:5:4מַה־מָּצְא֨וּmammatsuwhat found Jeremiah 2:5:5אֲבוֹתֵיכֶ֥םavotekhemyour fathers Jeremiah 2:5:6בִּי֙biin me Jeremiah 2:5:7עָ֔וֶלavelwrong or injustice Jeremiah 2:5:8כִּ֥יkithat Jeremiah 2:5:9רָחֲק֖וּrakhakuthey went far Jeremiah 2:5:10מֵעָלָ֑יmealaifrom upon me Jeremiah 2:5:11וַיֵּֽלְכ֛וּvayelekhuand they went Jeremiah 2:5:12אַחֲרֵ֥יakhareafter Jeremiah 2:5:13הַהֶ֖בֶלhahevelthe vapor or vanity Jeremiah 2:5:14וַיֶּהְבָּֽלוּ׃vayehebaluand they became vain or worthless
5. Formal Translation
Thus says the LORD {Yahweh, Righteous Judge}: “What injustice did your fathers find in Me, that they distanced themselves from Me, walked after vanity, and became vain?”
5. Dynamic Translation
The LORD {Yahweh, Just Accuser} declares: “What fault did your ancestors find in Me, that they strayed from Me, pursued vanity, and became vain?”
