The conjunction ki {כִּי | kî} ‘for’ introduces the reason clause lo-yitslach mi-zarʿo ish yoshev al-kisse David u-moshel od bi-Yehudah {לֹא יִצְלַח מִזַּרְע֗וֹ אִישׁ יֹשֵׁב עַל־כִּסֵּא דָוִד וּמֹשֵׁל עוֹד בִּיהוּדָה | lō-yiṣ-laḥ mi-zarʿo ʾîš yō-šêḇ ʿal-kis-sê dā-ḇîḏ û-mō-šēl ʿôḏ bi-yə-hū-ḏā(h)} ‘none from his seed will sit on David’s throne or rule anymore in Judah’.
