Exegesis

Two successive wayyiqtol verbs, wayyesapperūm {וַֽיְסַפְּרוּם֙ | wa·ye·sap·pə·rūm} ‘and they tell them’ and wayyatta‘ū {וַיַּתְע֣וּ | wa·yaṯ·ʿū} ‘and they lead astray’, coordinate actions directed toward my people (et-‘ammî {אֶת־עַמִּ֔י | ʾet·‘am·mî}).
