1. Formal Translation “If a man divorces his wife and she goes from him and becomes another man’s, will he return to her again? Would not that land be greatly defiled? Yet you have played the harlot with many companions; and would you return to Me?” declares the LORD {Yahweh, Covenant Judge}. |
1. Dynamic Translation “Suppose a man divorces his wife and she leaves him to marry another man—would he take her back again? Would not the land be completely polluted? Yet you have been unfaithful with many lovers; and would you still return to Me?” says the LORD {Yahweh, Restoring Redeemer}. |
