Joel 1:17:1עָבְשׁ֣וּavshuthey have shriveled
Joel 1:17:2פְרֻד֗וֹתperudotgrain kernels or seeds Joel 1:17:3תַּ֚חַתtakhatunder Joel 1:17:4מֶגְרְפֹ֣תֵיהֶ֔םmegerpetehemtheir clods or shovelfuls Joel 1:17:5נָשַׁ֙מּוּ֙nashammuthey are desolated Joel 1:17:6אֹֽצָר֔וֹתotsarotstorehouses Joel 1:17:7נֶהֶרְס֖וּnehersuthey were torn down Joel 1:17:8מַמְּגֻר֑וֹתmammegurotgranaries Joel 1:17:9כִּ֥יkibecause Joel 1:17:10הֹבִ֖ישׁhovishit has dried up Joel 1:17:11דָּגָֽן׃dagangrain
17. Formal Translation
The seeds have shriveled under the clods; the storehouses are laid waste; the granaries are torn down because the grain has withered.
17. Dynamic Translation
The seeds are ruined beneath the furrows; the storehouses lie empty, and the barns are in ruins because the grain has dried up.
