Refuse to join the ridicule and speak with respect

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and I need your mercy. I turn from my sin and from every way I have rejected your rule. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I confess you as Lord and ask you to forgive me, cleanse me, and lead my life. Thank you for receiving me. Amen.

Receive the Mocked King

Lord, revive your Church where we have grown careless with your honor. Make us tender toward the mocked, quick to defend the shamed, and unwilling to join in contempt. Restore awe for Jesus and courage to bear his name faithfully, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Renew Reverence for Jesus

Father, be near to anyone who is mocked, slapped, or treated as less than human. Give them shelter, wise support, and the assurance that you see them. Teach us to be safe people who refuse ridicule and offer dignity, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Near to the Mocked and Hurt

Pray by naming one moment when you laughed at, dismissed, or stayed silent while someone was humiliated. Confess it to God, ask for a changed heart, and ask him for one respectful action you can take today.

Turn From Ridicule

Give thanks that Jesus did not lose his worth when others mocked him. Praise him for royal dignity that humiliation could not erase, and for the patience that carried him toward the cross.

Thank God for Jesus' Worth

Pray for people who are mocked because of faith, weakness, appearance, class, or background. Ask God to strengthen them, give them allies, and use his people to honor those the world despises.
