12. Formal Translation Then Joshua spoke to the LORD {Yahweh, Ruler of Creation} on the day when the LORD gave the Amorites before the sons of Israel, and he said in the presence of Israel, “Sun, stand still over Gibeon, and moon in the valley of Aijalon.” |
12. Dynamic Translation On the day the LORD {Yahweh, Warrior King} delivered the Amorites over to Israel, Joshua said in the sight of all Israel, “Sun, stop over Gibeon; and you, moon, remain above the valley of Aijalon.” |
