Joshua 10:13:1וַיִּדֹּ֨םvayidomand stood still
Joshua 10:13:2הַשֶּׁ֜מֶשׁhashemeshthe sun Joshua 10:13:3וְיָרֵ֣חַveyareakhand the moon Joshua 10:13:4עָמָ֗דamadstood Joshua 10:13:5עַד־יִקֹּ֥םadyikkomuntil took vengeance Joshua 10:13:6גּוֹי֙goya nation Joshua 10:13:7אֹיְבָ֔יוoyvaivon their enemies Joshua 10:13:8הֲלֹא־הִ֥יאhalohiis it not Joshua 10:13:9כְתוּבָ֖הkhetuvawritten Joshua 10:13:10עַל־סֵ֣פֶרalseferin the book of Joshua 10:13:11הַיָּשָׁ֑רhayasharJashar Joshua 10:13:12וַיַּעֲמֹ֤דvayaamodand stood still Joshua 10:13:13הַשֶּׁ֙מֶשׁ֙hashemeshthe sun Joshua 10:13:14בַּחֲצִ֣יbakhatsiin the midst of Joshua 10:13:15הַשָּׁמַ֔יִםhashamayimthe heavens Joshua 10:13:16וְלֹא־אָ֥ץveloatsand did not hurry Joshua 10:13:17לָב֖וֹאlavoto come Joshua 10:13:18כְּי֥וֹםkeyomfor about a day Joshua 10:13:19תָּמִֽים׃tamimwhole
13. Formal Translation
And the sun stopped and the moon stood still until the people had avenged themselves on their enemies. Is it not written in the Book of the Upright? Then the sun stood in the middle of the heavens and did not hasten to set for a full day.
13. Dynamic Translation
The sun stood and the moon stood still until the nation took vengeance on their enemies. Is not this recorded in the Book of Jashar? The sun remained at midheaven and did not set for a whole day.
