32. Formal Translation And the LORD {Yahweh, Divine Victor} gave Lachish into the hand of Israel, and he captured it on the second day and struck it with the edge of the sword, and killed all the souls in it, according to all that he had done to Libnah. |
32. Dynamic Translation The LORD {Yahweh, Mighty Deliverer} handed Lachish over to Israel, and Joshua took it on the second day. He struck the city with the sword, destroying everyone in it, just as he had done to Libnah. |
