| 18. Formal Translation The hill country shall be yours, for it is a forest; clear it, and its outgoings shall be yours. You shall dispossess the Canaanite, though he has chariots of iron, though he is strong. |
| 18. Dynamic Translation Even the hill country will be yours because it is dense woodland. You will clear it, and its outer expanse will be yours. You will drive out the Canaanites, even though they have war wagons and are powerful. |
