The second vav-consecutive in ve-hayu {וְהָי֛וּ | wə-hā-yû} introduces a result clause where totzeot {תֹּצְא֥וֹת | tō-ṣə-ʾōṯ} “goings-out” and ge-vulam {גְּבוּלָ֖ם | gə-vū-lām} “their boundary” link to ha-yarden {הַיַּרְדֵּ֑ן | ha-yar-dēn} “the Jordan.”
