17. Formal Translation
And Judah and his brother Simeon struck the Canaanite dwelling in Zephath; they devoted the city to the ban, and they called it Hormah.
17. Dynamic Translation
Judah and his brother Simeon attacked the Canaanites living in Zephath and wiped out the city, which was then called Hormah.
