Exegesis

Finally, the volitive clause ve-atah kechuotah li leishah {וְעַתָּה קְחוּ־אוֹתָ֥הּ לִּי לְאִשָּׁה | wə·ʿattāh qəhû·ʾōṯāh lî lə·’išāh} issues an imperative to the parents with a clear purpose “for me as a wife.” English rendering shifts from Hebrew VSO order to SVO and expands the construct chain to “from among” for natural readability.
