וְאָבִ֨יו{ve-a-VIV###veh-aa-VEEV###and his father} וְאִמּ֜וֹ{ve-i-MO###veh-ih-MOH###and his mother} לֹ֣א{LO###LOH###not} יָדְע֗וּ{ya-de-U###yaa-deh-OO###they knew} כִּ֤י{KI###KEE###that} מֵיְהוָה֙{me-ye-ho-VAH###mee-yeh-ho-VAH###from the LORD} הִ֔יא{HI###HEE###she or it} כִּי־תֹאֲנָ֥ה{ki-TO-a-na###kee-TOH-ah-nah###that an occasion} הֽוּא־מְבַקֵּ֖שׁ{HU-me-vak-KESH###HOO-meh-vahk-KEESH###he was seeking} מִפְּלִשְׁתִּ֑ים{mip-pe-lish-TIM###mihp-peh-lihsh-TEEM###from the Philistines} וּבָעֵ֣ת{u-va-ET###oo-vaa-EET###and at (the) time} הַהִ֔יא{ha-HI###hah-HEE###that} פְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים{pe-lish-TIM###peh-lihsh-TEEM###Philistines} מֹשְׁלִ֥ים{mo-she-LIM###moh-sheh-LEEM###ruling} בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃פ{be-yis-ra-EL###beh-yihs-rah-EEL###over Israel}
