Judges 16:17:1וַיַּגֶּד־לָ֣הּvayaggedlaand he told her
Judges 16:17:2אֶת־כָּל־לִבּ֗וֹetkollibboall his heart Judges 16:17:3וַיֹּ֤אמֶרvayomerand he said Judges 16:17:4לָהּ֙lato her Judges 16:17:5מוֹרָה֙moraa razor Judges 16:17:6לֹֽא־עָלָ֣הloalahas not come up Judges 16:17:7עַל־רֹאשִׁ֔יalroshiupon my head Judges 16:17:8כִּֽי־נְזִ֧ירkinezirfor a Nazirite Judges 16:17:9אֱלֹהִ֛יםelohimof God Judges 16:17:10אֲנִ֖יaniI am Judges 16:17:11מִבֶּ֣טֶןmibetenfrom the womb Judges 16:17:12אִמִּ֑יimiof my mother Judges 16:17:13אִם־גֻּלַּ֙חְתִּי֙imgullakhtiif I am shaved Judges 16:17:14וְסָ֣רvesarthen it will depart Judges 16:17:15מִמֶּ֣נִּיmimenifrom me Judges 16:17:16כֹחִ֔יkhokhimy strength Judges 16:17:17וְחָלִ֥יתִיvekhalitiand I will become weak Judges 16:17:18וְהָיִ֖יתִיvehayitiand I will be Judges 16:17:19כְּכָל־הָאָדָֽם׃kekholhaadamlike any man
17. Formal Translation
And he told her all his heart and said to her, “A razor has never come upon my head, for I am a Nazirite of God{Elohim, Set-Apart One} from my mother’s womb; if I am shaved, then my strength would leave me, and I would become weak and be like any other man.”
17. Dynamic Translation
So he revealed everything in his heart to her and said, “No razor has ever touched my head, because I have been set apart as a Nazirite to God{Elohim, God of consecration} from my mother’s womb. If someone shaves my head, my strength will leave me, and I will be as ordinary as any other man.”
