The entreaty particles hinneh na {הִנֵּ֣ה נָא | hinnēh nā} ‘behold, please’ lead into the temporal clause rapha hayom la’arov {רָפָ֨ה הַיּ֜וֹם לַעֲרֹ֗ב | rāphāh hayyôm la‘āroḇ} ‘the day has slackened toward evening,’ creating urgency.

And the man rose up to go—he, his concubine, and his servant. But his father-in-law, the father of the girl, said to him, “Behold, please, the day has grown slack toward evening. Please spend the night; behold, the day is ending. Stay here and it will be well with your heart . In the morning you shall rise early for your journey, and you may go to your tent.”
