17. Formal Translation
And also to their judges they did not listen, for they prostituted themselves after other gods and bowed down to them. They turned aside quickly from the way which their fathers had walked, obeying the commands of the LORD {Yahweh, Covenant Lawgiver}; they did not do so.
17. Dynamic Translation
But they did not even listen to their own judges. Instead, they chased after other gods and worshiped them. They turned away quickly from the path their ancestors had followed, obeying the commands of the LORD {Yahweh, Divine Commander}. They did not do so.
