19. Formal Translation And it came to pass when the judge died, that they returned and corrupted themselves more than their fathers, going after other gods to serve them and to bow down to them. They did not cease from their deeds nor from their stubborn way. |
19. Dynamic Translation But when the judge died, the people turned back and became even more corrupt than their ancestors, chasing after other gods to serve and worship them. They did not drop their evil practices or their stubborn ways. |
