6. Formal Translation
Then Joshua {Yehoshua, Faithful Leader} dismissed the people, and the sons of Israel each went to his inheritance to possess the land.
6. Dynamic Translation
Joshua {Yehoshua, Guiding Commander} sent the people on their way, and each man of Israel went to his own inheritance to take possession of the land.
