Source Text: Hebrew (WLC) Judges 3:19:1 ⧉וְה֣וּאvehuand he Judges 3:19:2 ⧉שָׁ֗בshavreturned Judges 3:19:3 ⧉מִן־הַפְּסִילִים֙minhapesilimfrom the carved images Judges 3:19:4 ⧉אֲשֶׁ֣רasherwhich Judges 3:19:5 ⧉אֶת־הַגִּלְגָּ֔לethagilgalat Gilgal Judges 3:19:6 ⧉וַיֹּ֕אמֶרvayomerand he said Judges 3:19:7 ⧉דְּבַר־סֵ֥תֶרdevarsetera secret word Judges 3:19:8 ⧉לִ֛יlifor me Judges 3:19:9 ⧉אֵלֶ֖יךָelekhato you Judges 3:19:10 ⧉הַמֶּ֑לֶךְhamelekhthe king Judges 3:19:11 ⧉וַיֹּ֣אמֶרvayomerand he said Judges 3:19:12 ⧉הָ֔סhashush Judges 3:19:13 ⧉וַיֵּֽצְאוּ֙vayetseuand they went out Judges 3:19:14 ⧉מֵֽעָלָ֔יוmealavfrom upon him Judges 3:19:15 ⧉כָּל־הָעֹמְדִ֖יםkolhaomedimall the ones standing Judges 3:19:16 ⧉עָלָֽיו׃alavupon him |
19. Formal Translation But he turned back from the carved images at Gilgal and said, “I have a secret message for you, O king.” Then the king said, “Silence.” And all who stood around him went out from his presence. |
19. Dynamic Translation As he was leaving the idols near Gilgal, he turned back and said, “I have a private message for you, king.” The king replied, “Be quiet.” Everyone attending him then left the room. |
