30. Formal Translation Then the men of the city said to Joash, “Bring out your son, and let him die, because he has broken down the altar of Baal and cut down the Asherah beside it.” |
30. Dynamic Translation The townspeople demanded of Joash, “Hand over your son so he can be executed, because he tore down Baal’s altar and chopped down the Asherah pole standing next to it.” |
