24. Formal Translation
In order that the violence against the seventy sons of Jerub-Baal and their blood might come to rest upon Abimelech their brother—who killed them—and upon the lords of Shechem who strengthened his hands to kill his brothers.
24. Dynamic Translation
This happened so that the wrongdoing done to Jerub-Baal’s seventy sons and their spilled blood would be repaid to Abimelech, their brother, who killed them, and to the leaders of Shechem who supported him in murdering his brothers.
