3. Formal Translation
Judah has been carried away into exile because of affliction and because of heavy servitude; she lives among the nations but finds no rest; all who chase her have caught her in the narrow places.
3. Dynamic Translation
Judah has been driven into exile because of suffering and crushing bondage. She now lives among foreign peoples and cannot settle down; all her pursuers have caught up with her in her most desperate circumstances.
