Lamentations 1:5:2צָרֶ֤יהָtsarehaher adversaries Lamentations 1:5:3לְרֹאשׁ֙leroshas head Lamentations 1:5:4אֹיְבֶ֣יהָoyevehaher enemies Lamentations 1:5:5שָׁל֔וּshaluare at ease or prosper Lamentations 1:5:6כִּֽי־יְהוָ֥הkiyahwehfor the LORD Lamentations 1:5:7הוֹגָ֖הּhogahas afflicted her Lamentations 1:5:8עַ֣לalbecause of or on account of Lamentations 1:5:9רֹב־פְּשָׁעֶ֑יהָrovpeshaehathe abundance of her transgressions Lamentations 1:5:10עוֹלָלֶ֛יהָolalehaher children Lamentations 1:5:11הָלְכ֥וּhalkhuhave gone Lamentations 1:5:12שְׁבִ֖יshevias captives Lamentations 1:5:13לִפְנֵי־צָֽר׃סlifnetsarbefore an adversary
5. Formal Translation
Her adversaries now rule; her enemies live secure, for the LORD {Yahweh, Righteous Judge} has brought her low because of her many transgressions. Her children have gone off as captives before the adversary.
5. Dynamic Translation
Oppressors now dominate her, and her enemies feel secure, for the LORD {Yahweh, Righteous Ruler} has caused her suffering because of her many transgressions. Her children have been carried away into captivity before the foe.
