13. Formal Translation What can I bring forward for you, and what can I liken to you, daughter of Jerusalem? What can I set beside you so that I may comfort you, virgin daughter of Zion? For your ruin {shivrekh: brokenness, collapse} is as vast as the sea; who can heal you? |
13. Dynamic Translation What testimony can I give for you—what comparison can I make, daughter of Jerusalem? What can I place equal to you to bring comfort, virgin daughter of Zion? Your wreckage is immense, like the sea itself; who can heal {yirpa-lakh: bring healing, restore health} you? |
