12. Formal Translation To their mothers they say, “Where is grain and wine?” as they faint like the slain in the streets of the city, as their soul is poured out into the bosom of their mothers. |
12. Dynamic Translation They call to their mothers, “Where can we find bread and wine?” as they collapse like the wounded in the streets, and their lives drain away in their mothers’ laps. |
