45. Formal Translation But if that servant says in his heart, ‘My master {Kyrios, Returning Judge} is delaying His coming,’ and begins to strike the male servants and the female servants, and to eat and to drink and to become drunk. |
45. Dynamic Translation But suppose that servant thinks to himself, ‘My master {Kyrios, Coming Lord} is taking a long time to come,’ and then starts beating the male and female servants, eating and drinking, and getting drunk. |
