| 15. Formal Translation And He {Iesous, Discerning Teacher} said to them, “You are the ones who declare yourselves righteous before people, but God {Theos, Heart-Knowing Judge} knows your hearts; for what is exalted among people is an abomination in the sight of God.” |
| 15. Dynamic Translation He {Iesous, Searching Teacher} said to them, “You work to appear right in front of others, but God {Theos, Motive Examiner} sees what is in your hearts. The thing people lift up as most important is detestable to God.” |
