8. Formal Translation Therefore, produce fruits worthy of repentance, and stop saying within yourselves, “We have Abraham as our father.” For I tell you, God {Theos, Sovereign Judge} can raise up children for Abraham even from these stones. |
8. Dynamic Translation Let your actions show that your repentance is real, and do not tell yourselves, “Abraham is our father.” I tell you plainly: God {Theos, Limitless Creator} is able to make children for Abraham out of these very stones. |
