14. Formal Translation You have said, “Serving God {Elohim, Transcendent Ruler} is empty, and what gain is there in keeping His charge and in walking in mourning before the LORD of hosts {Yahweh Tzva’ot, Sovereign Commander}?” |
14. Dynamic Translation You say, “Serving God {Elohim, Compassionate Guide} is pointless. What benefit is there in keeping His requirements or walking in solemn mourning before the LORD of hosts {Yahweh Tzva’ot, Mighty Leader}?” |
