Responding with humility, gratitude, and readiness

Assuming the invitation makes everything automatic

Measuring your standing by comparing yourself with others

Treating the invitation as important only if you feel worthy

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and have not answered God as I should. I turn from my sin and from trusting myself. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I confess you as Lord, and I ask you to receive me by your mercy. Make me yours and teach me to follow you. Amen.

Receive the Invitation

Lord, awaken your Church to answer your call with humility and faith. Where we have grown casual, self-assured, or slow to respond, shake us awake. Keep us from boasting, comparing, or taking your invitation for granted. Make us ready, reverent, and quick to obey, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Awaken Your People to Answer

Father, thank you that you extend your invitation to many and do not leave people without a call. Thank you for your patience and your mercy. Help me receive your invitation with gratitude instead of entitlement, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Thank You for Calling

Pray by naming one place where you have become complacent, ask God to make you humble and ready, and then ask him for one clear step of obedience to take today.

Pray for a Ready Heart

Pray for people who have heard God's invitation but have not yet answered: that they would respond in faith, that excuses would fall away, and that they would not delay what God is saying to them now.

For Those Still Hearing

Bring these to God: pride that compares, fear of being overlooked, the habit of assuming you are fine, and a desire to live with reverent readiness before him.
