17. Formal Translation They will lick dust like a serpent, like creeping things of the earth; trembling, they will come out from their strongholds; they will be afraid before the LORD our God {Yahweh Eloheinu, Universal Sovereign}, and they will fear you. |
17. Dynamic Translation They will lick the dust like snakes, like creatures that crawl on the ground. They will come trembling out of their hiding places. They will fear the LORD our God {Yahweh Eloheinu, Fearsome King}, and they will be terrified of you. |
