17. Formal Translation
And Mattaniah son of Mica, son of Zabdi, son of Asaph, leader at the beginning who gave thanks in prayer; and Bakbukiah, second among his brothers; and Abda son of Shammua, son of Galal, son of Jeduthun.
17. Dynamic Translation
Mattaniah, a descendant of Mica, Zabdi, and Asaph, led the initial thanksgiving prayer; Bakbukiah served as the next in rank among his kin; and Abda, tracing his lineage through Shammua, Galal, and Jeduthun, was also among their number.
