7. Formal Translation Then I said to the king, “If it is pleasing to the king, may I receive letters for the governors of the territories beyond the river, so they may grant me safe passage until I reach Judah.” |
7. Dynamic Translation I also said to the king, “If it pleases you, would you send me letters for the governors of the territories beyond the Euphrates, so they secure my passage until I arrive in Judah.” |
