Nehemiah 2:7:1וָאוֹמַר֮vaomarand I said
Nehemiah 2:7:2לַמֶּלֶךְ֒lamelekhto the king Nehemiah 2:7:3אִם־עַל־הַמֶּ֣לֶךְimalhamelekhif upon the king Nehemiah 2:7:4ט֔וֹבtovgood Nehemiah 2:7:5אִגְּרוֹת֙iggerotletters Nehemiah 2:7:6יִתְּנוּ־לִ֔יyitnenolithey be given to me Nehemiah 2:7:7עַֽל־פַּחֲו֖וֹתalpakhavotto the governors Nehemiah 2:7:8עֵ֣בֶרeveracross or beyond Nehemiah 2:7:9הַנָּהָ֑רhanaharthe river Nehemiah 2:7:10אֲשֶׁר֙asherwhich Nehemiah 2:7:11יַעֲבִיר֔וּנִיyaavirunithey may cause me to pass over Nehemiah 2:7:12עַ֥דaduntil Nehemiah 2:7:13אֲשֶׁר־אָב֖וֹאasheravothat I may come Nehemiah 2:7:14אֶל־יְהוּדָֽה׃elyehudato Judah
7. Formal Translation
Then I said to the king, “If it is pleasing to the king, may I receive letters for the governors of the territories beyond the river, so they may grant me safe passage until I reach Judah.”
7. Dynamic Translation
I also said to the king, “If it pleases you, would you send me letters for the governors of the territories beyond the Euphrates, so they secure my passage until I arrive in Judah.”
