Nehemiah 4:7:1וַיְהִ֣יvayehiand it happened
Nehemiah 4:7:2כַּאֲשֶׁ֣רkaasherwhen Nehemiah 4:7:3שָׁמַ֣עshamahe heard Nehemiah 4:7:4סַנְבַלָּ֡טsanballatSanballat Nehemiah 4:7:5וְטוֹבִיָּהvetoviyaand Tobiah Nehemiah 4:7:6וְהָעַרְבִ֨יםvehaarevimand the Arabs Nehemiah 4:7:7וְהָעַמֹּנִ֜יםvehaamonimand the Ammonites Nehemiah 4:7:8וְהָאַשְׁדּוֹדִ֗יםvehaashdodimand the Ashdodites Nehemiah 4:7:9כִּֽי־עָלְתָ֤הkialetathat it had gone up Nehemiah 4:7:10אֲרוּכָה֙arukharepair or restoration Nehemiah 4:7:11לְחֹמ֣וֹתlekhomotfor the walls of Nehemiah 4:7:12יְרוּשָׁלִַ֔םyerushalayimJerusalem Nehemiah 4:7:13כִּֽי־הֵחֵ֥לּוּkihekheluthat they began Nehemiah 4:7:14הַפְּרָצִ֖יםhapratsimthe breaches Nehemiah 4:7:15לְהִסָּתֵ֑םlehissatemto be stopped up or to be closed Nehemiah 4:7:16וַיִּ֥חַרvayikhkharand it burned to them, and they were angry Nehemiah 4:7:17לָהֶ֖םlahemto them Nehemiah 4:7:18מְאֹֽד׃meodvery
7. Formal Translation
And it happened that when Sanballat, Tobiah, the Arabs, the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites heard that the repair to the walls of Jerusalem was advancing—for the breaches had begun to be closed—they were exceedingly angry.
7. Dynamic Translation
When Sanballat, Tobiah, the Arabs, the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites learned that the repairs on Jerusalem’s walls were gaining ground and the gaps were being sealed up, they became furious.
