7. Formal Translation And it happened that when Sanballat, Tobiah, the Arabs, the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites heard that the repair to the walls of Jerusalem was advancing—for the breaches had begun to be closed—they were exceedingly angry. |
7. Dynamic Translation When Sanballat, Tobiah, the Arabs, the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites learned that the repairs on Jerusalem’s walls were gaining ground and the gaps were being sealed up, they became furious. |
