13. Formal Translation Also, I shook out the fold of my garment and said, “Thus may God {Elohim, Righteous Repayer} shake out every person who does not uphold this word from his house and from his labor, and thus may he be shaken out and emptied.” And all the assembly said, “Amen,” and they praised the LORD {Yahweh, Covenant-Keeper}. And the people did according to this word. |
13. Dynamic Translation I also shook out the folds of my robe and said, “In the same way may God {Elohim, Just Judge} shake out anyone who does not keep this promise—from their house and out of their hard work—so they will end up shaken out and empty.” Then everyone in the gathering said, “Amen,” and they gave praise to the LORD {Yahweh, Promise Keeper}, and the people followed through on what they had promised. |
