10. Formal Translation And I came to the house of Shemaiah, son of Delaiah, son of Mehetabel, and he was confined. He said, “Let us meet in the house of God, inside the temple, and let us shut the temple doors, for they are coming to kill you; at night they come to kill you.” |
10. Dynamic Translation I went to see Shemaiah son of Delaiah, son of Mehetabel, who was shut in at his home. He said, “Let us meet in God’s house, right inside the temple, and let us close the temple doors, because people are coming to kill you—even tonight they are coming to kill you.” |
