19. Formal Translation And You {Yahweh, Ever-Present Sustainer}, in Your great compassions, did not abandon them in the wilderness; the pillar of cloud did not turn away from above them by day to guide them on the way, nor did the pillar of fire by night give light to them and show them the way in which they should go. |
19. Dynamic Translation Because of Your great mercy, You {Yahweh, Faithful Guide} never left them alone in the desert. By day, the pillar led their steps, and at night, the pillar of fire lit their path so they could see which way to go. |
