18. Formal Translation The house of Jacob will become a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, but the house of Esau will be stubble. They will blaze among them and devour them, and there will be no survivor for the house of Esau, because the LORD {Yahweh, Righteous Judge} has spoken. |
18. Dynamic Translation Jacob’s family will burn like fire, and Joseph’s like a blazing flame, while Esau’s family will be like dry stubble. They will set them on fire and consume them, and no one from Esau’s family will remain, because the LORD {Yahweh, Sure Decree-Giver} has declared it. |
