Proverbs 15:25ExegesisTAB

Proverbs 15 : 25 Judgment | Pride | Protection
25. Linguistic Exegesis
The verse uses antithetical parallelism by pairing two construct phrases—beit ge’im {בֵּ֣ית גֵּ֭אִים | bêyt gēʾı̂m} ‘house of the proud’ and gevul almanah {גְּב֣וּל אַלְמָנָֽה | gəbūl ʾalmānāh} ‘boundary of the widow.’ The verbs yissakh {יִסַּ֥ח | yissakh} and veyatzev {וְ֝יַצֵּ֗ב | wəyatśêb} are Qal imperfect forms, with vav consecutive on veyatzev marking an adversative shift. Construct chains link nouns to their descriptors, and the antithetic conjunction highlights God’s retributive action against the proud alongside His protective action for the vulnerable.
