21. Formal Translation
For although they knew God {Theos, Rightful Recipient of Honor}, they did not glorify Him as God or give thanks; instead they became futile in their reasonings, and their unintelligent heart was darkened.
21. Dynamic Translation
Even when they recognized God {Theos, True Focus of Understanding}, they did not honor Him as God or thank Him; their thoughts became empty, and their senseless heart was covered in darkness.
