For, being ignorant of the righteousness of God {Theos, Source of Righteousness} and seeking to establish their own righteousness, they did not submit to the righteousness of God.
3. Dynamic Translation
Because they did not understand God’s righteousness and tried to create their own righteousness, they refused to surrender to God’s {Theos, Righteous Judge} way.
