17. Formal Translation Just as it has been written, “I have made you a father of many nations,” before God {Theos, Giver of Resurrection} whom he believed—who gives life to the dead and calls the things that are not as though they are. |
17. Dynamic Translation As it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations.” He believed in God {Theos, Creator of New Life}, before whom this promise stood—God who brings the dead to life and speaks of what does not exist as if it already were. |
