13. Formal Translation Therefore, did the good become death to me? May it never be! But it was sin, so that it might be shown to be sin by producing death in me through what is good, so that through the commandment, sin might become exceedingly sinful. |
13. Dynamic Translation Then did something good cause my death? Certainly not! Sin produced death in me by means of what is good, so that sin would be exposed for what it is, and through the commandment, sin would show itself as sinful beyond all measure. |
