17. Formal Translation Woe to the worthless shepherd {ha-elil: idol, vanity} who forsakes the flock! Let the sword fall upon his arm and upon his right eye. May his arm wither and dry up and his right eye be utterly darkened. |
17. Dynamic Translation Disaster to the useless shepherd who deserts the sheep! Let the sword strike his arm and his right eye. His arm will shrivel and dry up, and his right eye will become blind. |
