Source Text: Hebrew (WLC) Zechariah 11:16:1 ⧉כִּ֣יkifor Zechariah 11:16:2 ⧉הִנֵּֽה־אָנֹכִי֩hinneanokhibehold, I Zechariah 11:16:3 ⧉מֵקִ֨יםmekimam raising up Zechariah 11:16:4 ⧉רֹעֶ֜הroea shepherd Zechariah 11:16:5 ⧉בָּאָ֗רֶץbaaretsin the land Zechariah 11:16:6 ⧉הַנִּכְחָד֤וֹתhanikhkhadotthe being cut off Zechariah 11:16:7 ⧉לֹֽא־יִפְקֹד֙loyifkodhe will not attend Zechariah 11:16:8 ⧉הַנַּ֣עַרhanaarthe young one Zechariah 11:16:9 ⧉לֹֽא־יְבַקֵּ֔שׁloyevakkeshhe will not seek Zechariah 11:16:10 ⧉וְהַנִּשְׁבֶּ֖רֶתvehanishberetand the broken one Zechariah 11:16:11 ⧉לֹ֣אlonot Zechariah 11:16:12 ⧉יְרַפֵּ֑אyerapehe will heal Zechariah 11:16:13 ⧉הַנִּצָּבָה֙hanitstsavathe standing one Zechariah 11:16:14 ⧉לֹ֣אlonot Zechariah 11:16:15 ⧉יְכַלְכֵּ֔לyekhalkelelhe will sustain Zechariah 11:16:16 ⧉וּבְשַׂ֤רuvesarand flesh of Zechariah 11:16:17 ⧉הַבְּרִיאָה֙haberiathe fat one Zechariah 11:16:18 ⧉יֹאכַ֔לyokhalhe will eat Zechariah 11:16:19 ⧉וּפַרְסֵיהֶ֖ןufarsehehenand their hoofs Zechariah 11:16:20 ⧉יְפָרֵֽק׃סyefarekhe will tear off |
16. Formal Translation For behold, I {Yahweh, Sovereign Appointer} am raising up a shepherd in the land who will not attend to those being destroyed, will not seek the youth, will not heal the one being broken, and will not sustain the one standing; but he will eat the flesh of the fat one and tear off their hooves. |
16. Dynamic Translation Look, I {Yahweh, Uncaring Judge} am about to raise up a shepherd in this land who will not care for those destroyed, will not search for the young, will not heal the broken, will not sustain the one standing; instead, he will consume the flesh of the well-fed and rip off their hooves. |
