10. Formal Translation And I will pour out upon the house of David and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem the spirit of grace and supplications, and they will look to Me {Yahweh, Compassionate Redeemer}, whom they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only son, and they will be bitter over him as one is bitter over a firstborn. |
10. Dynamic Translation I will pour out on the descendants of David and the people living in Jerusalem the spirit of grace and prayers for help. Then they will look at Me {Yahweh, Mercy Giver}, whom they have pierced, and they will grieve for Him as someone grieves for an only child, and they will weep with deep sorrow for Him as one weeps for a firstborn. |
