19. Formal Translation And he said, “May it be unthinkable for me, before my God {Elohai, Divine Standard}, to do this! Am I to drink the blood of these men, that is, their life? For they brought it with their lives.” So he was not willing to drink it. These things the three mighty men did. |
19. Dynamic Translation He said, “I must not do this, before my God {Elohai, Faithful Guardian}. Should I drink the blood of these men, when they brought it at the risk of their lives?” So he refused to drink it. That is what the three fighters did. |
