Exegesis
A second promise ū-nəṭaʿtîhû {וּנְטַעְתִּ֙יהוּ֙ | ū-nə-ṭaʿ-tî-hû} ‘and I will plant him’ uses agrarian imagery for rooted establishment, followed by wə-šaḥan taḥtāw {וְשָׁכַ֣ן תַּחְתָּ֔יו | wə-ša-ḥan taḥ-tāw} ‘and he will dwell under him’ portraying protective habitation.
In context — 1 Chronicles 17:9
And I will appoint a place for my people Israel and will plant them, and they will dwell in their place and will not be disturbed again, and sons of wickedness will not continue to afflict them as at the beginning.
