| 17. Formal Translation And it was told to David, and he gathered all Israel and crossed the Jordan, and he came to them and arranged against them. David then arranged to meet Aram for battle, and they fought with him. |
| 17. Dynamic Translation When David heard about this, he rallied all Israel, crossed the Jordan, and took position against them for battle. He then drew up his forces to face the Arameans, and they fought with him. |
